The Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of The Mystery of Edwin Drood has extended its limited engagement at Studio 54 through March 10, 2013. The production had originally been scheduled to end its run on February 10.
Chita Rivera, Stephanie J. Block, Will Chase, Gregg Edelman and Jim Norton star in the first-ever revival of the 1985 Tony Award-winning musical. Based on Charles Dickens’ final unfinished novel, the musical allows the audience to vote for whom they believe to be the suspect in the mysterious disappearance of a young man named Edwin Drood.
The show also stars Andy Karl, Jessie Mueller, Betsy Wolfe, Nicholas Barasch, Peter Benson and Robert Creighton, with an ensemble that includes Alison Cimmet, Nick Corley, Janine DiVita, Jenifer Foote, Justin Greer, Shannon Lewis, Spencer Plachy, Kiira Schmidt, Eric Sciotto and Jim Walton. The musical's new cast album will be released on January 29, 2013.
The Mystery of Edwin Drood features music, lyrics, book and orchestrations by Rupert Holmes, as well as costumes by William Ivey Long, lighting by Brian Nason, set design by Anna Louizos, sound design by Tony Meola, hair and wigs by Paul Huntley, music direction by Paul Gemignani and choreography by Warren Carlyle.
